The 2014 Pro Bowl, presented by McDonald’s, will feature a new format for the NFL All-Star Game based on major changes proposed by NFLPA President DOMONIQUE FOXWORTH designed to make it the ultimate fan-friendly celebration of the game, the NFL and NFL Players Association announced today.

Gone is the familiar AFC vs. NFC match-up that has existed since 1971.  Instead, players will be selected without regard to conference in voting by fans, coaches and players.  For example, the top six quarterbacks following voting will earn distinction as All-Stars, regardless of how many are from AFC or NFC teams.

Players will be assigned to teams through the Pro Bowl Draft, in which two leading vote getters will…

Mile High Stampede Episode 3: PLEASE NOTE TIME AND DATE CHANGE

Join us for the third episode of Mile High Stampede! It should be live at http://mixlr.com/milehighstampede/chat, if not I will comment in here as to the new location.

Before the show starts, if you’d like, send me a rant of up to 200 words (on anythingBroncos-related) or a bio of yourself. It will begin Wednesday, July 24 at 7PM Mountain Time. The show will from here on run at 7PM, but this week I have to move it to Wednesday instead of Tuesday due to a quirk in my schedule this week.

First on the itinerary is something that was first on most peoples’ itineraries on Monday. Von Miller facing a four game suspension for use of marijuana and MDMA. Where do you come down on this?

We’ll break down Training Camp! Please vote in the poll as to which position you think will have the most interesting battle.

We’ll also talk about the rest of the AFC West. What did the ChiefsChargers and Raiders do in the offseason that was noteworthy?

Thanks to @ChiefBlindersOn for asking our thoughts on this article from the Chiefs organization on the Broncos’ offseason: http://www.kcchiefs.com/news/article-2/2013-Offseason-Review-Denver-Broncos/0f7d3749-5ec6-494d-bc08-972ee490ac0f

 Fan questions that we’ll cover:

Discuss how we’re about to have 33 players as FA in 2014, 11 of whom are starters.

Calikula

Discuss in the absence of russell and heckert who the broncos bring in , in the short term to evaluate player talent . With training camp fast approaching . Remember they were our top 2 guys for that job . they had to decide who stays and who gets cut to get the roster down to 53 men . Now who do we settle for at the last minute , so to speak . Imo , its a big deal , How badly damaged is this part of the broncos battleship ?

Mile High Stampede: Bring Your Feedback!

Denver Broncos fans and listeners of Mile High Stampede!

First of all, thank you very much for listening to the show. If you haven’t I hope you’ll join us! It airs Tuesdays at 5 pm Mountain Time on http://www.mixlr.com/milehighstampede/chat

At this point, I’ve broadcast two episodes and the offseason is just about over. I am at a crossroads in terms of the show, but it remains a show of by and for the fans of the Broncos.

So I’ve got questions for you, as fans of the team, which is my primary target for the show.

What would you like to see in this show? What would you like to discuss? I’d really like to include as much of your suggestions as possible, but I wanted to see what you would most be interested to have. Please, comment what you’d like to see. I really want to get what you want.

What would you like to see in a fan radio program? What would you like to hear that would keep you listening in?

Episode 2!

Join us for the second episode of Mile High Stampede! It should be live at http://mixlr.com/milehighstampede, if not I will comment in here as to the new location. It will begin Tuesday, July 16 at 5PM Mountain Time.

Before the show starts, if you’d like, send me a rant of up to 200 words (on anything Broncos-related) or a bio of yourself. I hope to have weekly “Fan Rant” sections as well as “Fan Bio” segments to really help include the fan voice. Comment them here or email them to milehighstampede@gmail.com

First of all, Ryan Clady signs! That will be the number one item on our agenda! Vote in the poll below, I’d love to get some numbers on this.

Like last time, I’m looking for one word from you that you would use to describe this signing. We’ll break it down in greater depth, but to start, what is the one word you’d describe this signing with?

For reference, the other franchise tagged players have been:

Bronco Mike contributes the following question:

how about the implications of Clady’s contract on other deals…..or how the FO and Elway prioritize

A very excellent question, and one that I think will generate quite a lot of discussion!

After we discuss the Ryan Clady signing, we’ll move on to talking about the rest of the Broncos offseason. What was your favorite move of the offseason?

We’ll run down whatever news has come up about official reaction or punishment of Matt Russell’s and Tom Heckert’s escapades.

***Update, 12:38pm Monday***

News: Broncos suspend Heckert 1 month w/out pay, Russell indefinitely w/out pay. Views: If you read my column days ago, you saw this coming..

Mark Kiszla (@markkiszla)https://twitter.com/markkiszla/statuses/356844220201451520

And, Quentin Saulsberry joins the fun with a DUI as well! That’s four arrested Broncos in the offseason. Where do you come down on all of this?

***Update, 5:21pm, Monday***

broncosfaninphilly asks,

Can the broncos defense truely handle the pistol formation offense ? Are our big men up front built to handle all the running and chaseing that comes with trying to defend this offense ? We will face off against the likes of RG3 , vick , Alex smith and the chiefs twice . Can we afford to lose four regular season games due to the pistol ? We will know early mabey when we face the 49ers and the seahawks in pre season . That being said I am not worried about the pre season games just the four regular season games because there the ones that count . hope we can touch on this topic , see ya tomorrow .

Just take these one at a time as the show progresses, we’ll get to everything!

If we have time, we might get to a preview of the other AFC West teams, although I think there’ll be plenty of time later to talk about the RaidersChargers and Chiefs and how they’ll likely be this season.

Mile High Stampede: Coming Your Way!

Announcement Concerning Mile High Stampede Fan Radio

Mile High Stampede is an online radio program of, by and for fans of the Denver Broncos.

I, the director and host, am a college student at the University of Colorado at Boulder and am entering my final semester. Therefore, as you can imagine, I am extremely busy with classes and multiple jobs. The Broncos are my most valuable extracurricular pursuit and I will try to invest as much time as possible in this program.

The program will run for half an hour every two weeks during the summer and approximately monthly during the regular season.

I hope to have noted Broncos fans in the community as guests and, if possible, as guest co-hosts. However, I first envisioned this show as of, by and for the fans, so much of it will be YOUR thoughts, opinions and contributions. I will have a call-in line, and you will be able to make comments and ask questions through tweeting @mhsradio or emailing milehighstampede@gmail.com

PLEASE vote for and listen to this station as it staying up absolutely depends on your support. It will literally get taken down without votes and listeners.

For now, the show will run Tuesdays from 5 to 5:30. You will be able to access it through our Caster.FM page at http://milehighstampede.caster.fm/

The next airing will be Tuesday July 9 at 5. I hope to have you listening.

Thoughts and Prayers with Chiefs fans

It is always hard to see someone take someone else’s life and then their own. That’s always rough. Chiefs fans: thoughts and prayers are with you during this tough time.

As Broncos fans, we too have lost players such as Darrent Williams, Damien Nash and Kenny McKinley. This scenario is always the very worst of circumstances for a player to no longer be on the team.

I may not like the Chiefs because we’re rivals, but in times like these we have to set our differences apart. Rivalries just crumble in situations like this and you have to empathize with the “enemy.” At times like these we are humans, and the death of someone in these types of circumstances is just sad. And, we are NFL fans and a tragedy like this is always heart-breaking.

If there is some kind of evidence from this that a head injury is to blame, the resulting investigation into the NFL will be very interesting to watch. Stay tuned for that portion of the resulting news.
